on Sifu Massengill
Master Instructor Tony Massengill is the United States Chief
Representative of the Ip Family Wing Chun Kung Fu system
under the Traditional Ip Man Wing Chun Association, and a
member of the Ving Tsun Athletic Association of Hong Kong
which was established by Bruce Lee’s teacher in 1968.
Massengill is a direct private disciple of Grandmaster Samuel
Kwok, who is a top disciple of both sons of Great Grandmaster Ip
Man, Grandmasters Ip Chun and Ip Ching who are considered
Massengill’s SiGungs or Kung Fu Grandfathers. This makes Tony
Massengill the first generation of non-Chinese to be certified as a
Master Instructor under this rich lineage.
Sifu Massengill is the co-author along with Grandmaster Kwok of
the book "Mastering Wing Chun - The Keys to Ip Man's Kung Fu"
and is featured in the instructional DVDs of the same name.
He is the author of the upcoming book "Mastering Chin-Na The
Chinese Art of Capture, Control and Destruction" Coming Soon
from Empire Media.
Wing Chun is the system that Bruce Lee credited for his
abilities, and the foundation upon which he built his
personal fighting method. Bruce Lee was quoted as saying “I
owe my accomplishment to my training in Wing Chun, a great
style”.
Sifu Massengill teaches the Wing Chun system as it has
been passed down in a direct line from Lee’s teacher Ip
(Yip) Man through his most personal students, his own
sons, and from them through their Senior Disciple,
Master Samuel Kwok, who in turn passed the system to
his Senior U.S. Disciple, Sifu Tony Massengill (Kwok
Ching Yin).
As the United States Chief Representative of the Ip Family Wing
Chun Kung Fu system under the the Traditional Ip Man Wing
Chun Association, Massengill has been given the responsibility
of helping to standardize the Wing Chun system as it is taught in
America. He is tasked with conducting instructor training,
conducting seminars, and management of the association.
In addition to Group Classes at MASS Martial Arts,
Master Massengill is available for Elite Personal Martial
Training as well as Small Private Group Instruction and
Seminars both locally and abroad.
